FAQ's

General Info

Do you offer tile samples?
Yes, you can order tile samples from our website. Your tile samples will be delivered to your address, with standard delivery taking between 2-3 working days. Samples are cuts from full sized tiles.

Can I supply measurements for you to calculate the tile area for me?
Yes, you can get in touch with us via phone or email and we will be able to provide you with the tile calculations for your project.

Are the tile sizes correct?
The sizes stated on our website are the sizes the tiles are manufactured to, which are the nominal sizes. The tile manufacturing process means that each tile is not always made to a consistent size and that even tiles within the same batch can vary in size, sometimes up to around 5mm. A 5mm tolerance is therefore a widely accepted standard within the tiling industry.

I need to buy more of the same tiles after I have placed my initial order, can I do this?
Yes, but we recommend that any additional tiles are from the same batch as the original order. This is because different batches may have tiles of a different shade.

Is it possible to tile directly onto a wooden floor?
This shouldn’t be an issue, providing a suitable type of boarding is overlaid onto the wood prior to tiling. Flexible adhesive and grout should also be used when tiling onto wooden surfaces.

What is a Porcelain Tile?
Porcelain tiles have become extremely popular in recent years for both home and commercial renovations. These tiles are fired at very high temperatures which produces a full, vitrified body. As a result of this manufacturing process, porcelain tiles are dense and strong and offer a superior performance to ceramic tiles.

What’s the difference between Quartz and Granite?

Quartz and granite are often categorised together as a result of them sharing many similar qualities. They are both durable and usually have a polished finish, but they are actually very different materials. Quartz is a manmade tile which is manufactured from resin, pieces of quartz and mirror flecks. Granite, on the other hand, is a natural material which forms deep within the Earth’s crust during the slow cooling process of magma.

What do you use to cut large, dense tiles?
Large, dense tiles like porcelain, marble and granite require cutting with a wheel cutter and diamond sawn blade.
